Danum Valley Field Centre

Established in 1986, the Danum Valley Field Centre (DVFC) ranks among the world's foremost rainforest research facilities, alongside La Selva in Costa Rica and Barro Colorado Island in Panama. DVFC facilitates research activities, hosts environmental education programs and training, and serves as a central management for the protection of the Danum Valley Conservation Area. While its primary purpose revolves around research, it was not initially designed with tourists in mind, but over the years, the opportunity to experience the centre's offerings has been extended to keen naturalists and independent travelers.
